What Is a Free Home Care Assessment?
A free home care assessment is a face-to-face conversation between a member of our care team, your loved one and — where appropriate — their family. It takes place in the home, at a time that suits you, and typically lasts between 45 minutes and one hour.
It is not a sales visit. It is not a tick-box exercise. It is a genuine, thorough and personal conversation designed to help us truly understand your loved one — their life, their needs, their preferences and what good care looks like specifically for them.
Everything discussed during the assessment is treated with complete confidentiality. Nothing is shared outside the care team without your consent.

What Happens During Your Free Assessment?
Our assessments follow a structured but relaxed format. There is no clipboard intimidation, no clinical forms to fill in and no rush. Here is what to expect.
Introductions & Setting the Scene
We begin by introducing ourselves and explaining how the assessment works. We want your loved one and your family to feel completely comfortable from the outset. Tea or coffee is always welcome.
Understanding the Person
We spend time learning about your loved one as a person — not just as a care recipient. Their life history, interests, daily routines, social preferences and what matters most to them.
Assessing Care Needs
We gently explore current care needs — personal care, mobility, medication, nutrition, cognition and anything else relevant. We ask open questions and listen carefully. We never make assumptions.
Discussing Goals & Preferences
We ask about the outcomes that matter most. Is the goal to maintain independence? To return home safely following a hospital discharge? To provide relief for a family carer?
Next Steps
We explain what a care package might look like, answer every question you have and discuss how we would approach the care. There is absolutely no pressure to proceed. A written summary is provided within 24 hours.

The assessment is just the beginning. Here is exactly what happens after we have met with your loved one and your family.
Within 24 Hours — Written Summary
You receive a written summary of the assessment, confirming what was discussed, the care needs identified and our initial recommended approach. This document is yours to keep and share with family members, GPs or other professionals.
Within 48 Hours — Care Plan Proposal
If you would like to proceed, we produce a personalised care plan proposal detailing the recommended visits, the care tasks, the carer profile and the approach. This is discussed with you before anything is confirmed.
Carer Matching
Once the care plan is agreed, we carefully match your loved one with the most appropriate carer — based on skills, experience, personality and interests. We never assign a carer randomly.
Care Begins
